How I Can Help
-
Women's mental health refers to the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of women throughout their lives. It encompasses a wide range of issues, from anxiety, depression, and stress to more complex conditions like trauma. Women often experience mental health challenges related to hormonal changes during menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause. Additionally, societal pressures, caregiving roles, and gender-based violence can contribute to mental health difficulties. It’s important for psychologists to recognize the unique experiences women face and provide tailored interventions to address these concerns.
-
Perinatal mental health focuses on the emotional and psychological well-being of women during pregnancy (antenatal) and up to one year after childbirth (postnatal). This period is often marked by major life changes, and mental health challenges can have a significant impact on both the mother and the baby. Early identification and intervention are crucial for the well-being of both.
Key perinatal mental health conditions include:
Prenatal Depression and Anxiety: Emotional distress during pregnancy can impact maternal and fetal health.
Postpartum Depression (PPD): A significant mental health condition that affects many new mothers, characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, fatigue, and difficulty bonding with the baby.
Postpartum Psychosis: A rare but severe condition that requires immediate medical attention, involving delusions, hallucinations, and confusion.
Baby Blues: A transient emotional condition experienced by many women after childbirth, with mood swings, irritability, and tearfulness.
Through our work together, I am dedicated to supporting women through mental health challenges at all stages of life, including the perinatal period. I offer specialized care tailored to individual needs, with a focus on evidence-based therapies and compassionate support. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, or any other mental health concern, I am here to guide you toward better mental wellness.

How It Works
Step One: Consultation
Schedule your free, 15-minute consultation. Here I’ll ask what prompted you to reach out and what you’re looking for. If I feel we’re a good fit, you’re welcome to ask me questions as well. Once you feel comfortable moving forward, we’ll discuss fees and schedule the intake appointment.
Step Two: Intake Appointment
During your first session, I’ll be interested to hear more about you and what you’re experiencing. This typically includes asking questions about your current situation and history. This will also allow you to experience how I am as a therapist. We’ll discuss if it feels like a good fit and if you’d like to schedule additional sessions.
Step Three: The Work Begins
We’ll begin meeting regularly to journey through your experience and discover what keeps you stuck in the same patterns. I believe true healing and lasting change take time and can be painful. I’ll encourage you to have patience and trust in the messy process.
